(I received a free sample of this Homthy product in exchange for an honest review.)
I’ve been in TCGs and Sports cards for decades. I’ve seen a lot of binders of this sort.
This is a solid option.
The outside feels fairly sturdy and the material used is good. The stitching looks fine. There is a slight bend in the inner cardboard used to make the cover hard, but that’s normal since this part will bend if there are no cards in it for some time.
The inner liner feels soft in a weird way and I couldn’t place the material they used. It’s soft enough though. The metal clip used to hold the card pages is excellent. The small hand strap located at the top of the binder was quite strong and shouldn’t be an issue at all.
The pages themselves were…hmm. I feel like they could have use a slightly stronger plastic, but they should hold up just fine. I did manage to catch a couple of toploaders on the plastic as I was inserting them, but it held up alright.
Once loaded up, the pages felt fine and the cards were held in the insert well. If you only load cards in one side, there is a slightly higher chance the cards may slide out, but that’s with pretty much any binder of this time. When filling the binder I used only 20pt toploaders. It may be possible to use thicker ones like 35pt, but the fit is already quite snug so I wouldn’t recommend it.
Overall, it’s a good product and should protect your cards well. My only real problem was with the plastic used to make the pages, but admittedly my standards for 9 pocket sleeves is insanely high.
